You may be wondering - "why should I hire my neighbor instead of going with a large, more established company?"
Most traditional landscaping companies are high-volume businesses focused on efficiency - they want to get on-and-off of your property as quickly as possible, sometimes in less than 20 minutes.
They're also prone to cookie-cutter approaches, using the same treatments on every house, regardless of each lawn's grass varieties, mowing heights, sun/shade qualities, soil composition and other unique challenges.
With a jam-packed schedule, it's also hard for them to adapt when the weather changes - which it is prone to do in Cleveland. This means you see things like fertilizing just before it rains (when most of it will wash away) or planting grass seed during a dry spell (when it's unlikely to germinate).
I only take on a handful of customers at a time, so that I can give each lawn the care it needs and ensure a high-quality result.
Here are some of the ways I buck the cookie cutter approach and will give your lawn the care it deserves:
๐จโ๐ฌ Start with a soil test. Every new customer gets a soil test, so that we can find out what is already in your soil and whether we need to do things like adjust the pH or add missing micronutrients. Finding and fixing issues in your soil up front saves a lot of time and cost down the line.
๐ฑ Choosing the right grass seed blend. I'll work with you to choose a grass seed that meets your goals. That means looking at factors like foot-traffic resilience, ideal mowing height, watering requirements, drought & heat tolerance, dark vs light color and much more.
๐ Getting all of the details right. Make sure we prevent the problems your current lawn is having from re-emerging. That means applying biostimulants, scarcifying, core aerating, grub control, pre- and post-emergent herbicides, and lots more - always tailored to your lawn.
๐ An eye for aesthetics. A healthy lawn should look beautiful and vibrant. I can take care of cosmectic issues like levelling to cover up protrouding roots or fill in minor pooling & drainage issues. No one wants a yard covered in straw - I use natural ground covers to protect your seeds.
๐ Weekly follow up. Cleveland weather is notoriously unpredictable. New grass can take 4-6 weeks to really establish and a lot can go wrong to mess up your project โ from torrential rains that wash away seed to heat waves that dry everything up. Iโll come by to check on your progress for several weeks afterwards, and make any follow up treatments we may need, to guarantee youโll get the lawn youโre happy with.
๐ค Clear communication & education. Iโm happy to discuss ideas & suggestions for ways to keep your lawn looking great season after season. Iโll also check in with you each week of the project via text message to let you know what you can expect to happen, so youโre never out of the loop.
